About the Costume

Costumes from the 1969 film Anne of the Thousand Days were created by costume designer Margaret Furse. They won her an Academy Award for Best Costume Design, and many of her pieces from the production went on to be used in other films over the years.

This lovely costume was worn by Geneviève Bujold as the character Anne Boleyn in Anne of the Thousand Days.  The gown was used again in the 1976 film Reisen til julestjeren (Journey to the Christmas Star), where it was worn on Bente Børsum as “The Queen.”
