About the Costume

This cream colored dress with beautifully embroidered stomacher and cuffs first appeared in the 2005 miniseries The Virgin Queen, where it was worn by Sienna Guillory as Lettice Knollys. While the gown features in one promotional picture, it only appears briefly in the show.

The gown was used again in 2009 in The Tudors’ third season, on Rebekah Wainwright as Catherine Brandon, in the episode Dissension and Punishment.

Where else have you seen this wonderful costume?

Costume Commentary

    • A long time ago when I first started this site, I thought “Oh, of course we will identify them all. How many could there be?” That’s kind of how I felt with reused costumes in general. I figured we’d find about 200…maybe 250 reused costumes in total and then we’d just kind of stop finding them, and the site would eventually run its course, having fully documented all there was to find. Ah! What a fool I was! I still – even when I started the site – didn’t realize that reused costumes are literally everywhere!

      • The cream colored dress with beautifully embroidered stomacher and cuffs is worn on Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn in The Tudors: The Death of Wolsey (2007) and later worn on an ekstra in Anonymous
(2011) and i have sumbit it too site
