This gown is a good example of costumes having duplicates. Duplicate costumes are frequently made for costumes that have to undergo some kind of change, such as getting wet, torn or dirty. Costume designer Moidele Bickel created four copies of this white dress for the 1994 film La reine Margot (Queen Margot), each with varying amounts of blood on them. The gowns were worn on Isabelle Adjani as Marguerite de Valois.

The clean and pristine version of the gown has gone on to be used in other productions. In 2009 it was seen in Henri 4 (also titled Henri of Navarre), where it was worn on an extra. It made another appearance that same year on Priscilla Bescond as Charlotte de Montmorency in Ce jour là, tout a changé: L’Assassinat d’Henri IV (The Days that Made History: The Assassination of Henry IV).
