Carole Nimmons first wore this charming dress as Dolly in the 1977 adaptation of Anna Karenina. The costume was seen again in the 1990 television film A Ghost in Monte Carlo, where Joanna Lumley wore it as Lady Drayton. In 1993 the gown appeared on an extra in The Age of Innocence, and in 1996 it was worn by Jocelyn Broderick as Mary Currey in Rhodes: The Life and Legend of Cecil Rhodes.
The gown went on to be worn by a series of extras, first in 1999’s Topsy-Turvy, next in the 2002 miniseries The Forsyte Saga, and finally in the 2012 adaptation of Anna Karenina.

Log in to ReplyI just noticed that the film is called A Ghost in Monte Carlo (IN, not OF). It won’t come up as easily on an internet search with a name error. 🙂
