About the Costume

This stunning Edwardian-style gown is a wonderful example of how lighting choices can change the way we view a garment in different productions. The dress was initially seen on Michelle Dockery as Lady Mary Crawley in the first season of Downton Abbey in 2010, where it appeared quite green.

It was recycled for use in 2014 in the season two finale of Mr. Selfridge, where it looked a bit more blue on Frances O’Connor as Rose Selfridge.

The dress made a third appearance in 2015, when it was worn by María Jesús Hoyos as Facunda in Seis hermanas (Six Sisters).
