It was first spotted being worn by Jane Seymour in the role of Bella Wilfer in the 1976 adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel Our Mutual Friend. In 1994 it was worn by Annabeth Gish as Anne Hampton in the miniseries Scarlett. Finally, in 2002 the piece was worn as a wedding dress by Romola Garai as Gwendolen Harleth in Daniel Deronda.
