This costume first appeared in the 2004 movie adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, starring Emmy Rossum as Christine Daae. The dress was later used on the cover of Todor Por Amor (All for Love), a 2006 historical fiction novel by author Dan Jacobson. Interestingly, it seems the same The Phantom of the Opera promotional photograph was used, only it has been mirrored and a new head has been photoshopped on.

  1. There’s hundreds of cases like this one. For example, check this one. The book is “El Heredero del Clan”, a novel by Montse de Paz, a Spanish author (it would mean “The Clan’s Heir” or “The Heir to the Clan”. And to illustrate the cover, they took a promo photo from the adventure serie “Legend of the Seeker”, more specifically of Bridget Regan as Kahlan Amnell.

    In the cover, they only photoshopped a new head and added a viking shield…
