About the Costume

This lovely gown was first worn by Angela Scoular as Maud Penmar in the 1997 Penmarric. The costume was recycled for Barbara Badcock as Nora Christie in the 1992 film Far and Away. The piece was seen again in 1999 in Topsy-Turvy on Dorothy Atkinson as Jessie Bon. The 2000’s television series, Murder Rooms: Mysteries of the Real Sherlock Holmes saw the costume worn by an uncredited extra during the season two episode The Patient’s Eyes. Finally, the gown was seen on June Forsyte, played by Gillian Kearney in the 2002 television mini-series The Forsyte Saga.
