This beautiful blue gown was first featured in the 2005 television series adaptation of Bleak House where it was worn by Anna Maxwell Martin as Esther Summerson. The gown was recycled for the 2006 production of Jane Eyre where it was worn by Ruth Wilson in the title role. The dress made another appearance in 2009 when it was used in a promotional piece of artwork to accompany a Times review of the BBC’s Emma. The artwork is titled Emma Woodhouse Paper Dolls.
