This costume was probably made for the 1999 production of David Copperfield, where Maggie Smith wore it as Betsey Trotwood. Annabelle Apsion then reused it as Emma Micawber in a 2002 episode of Micawber titled Micawber Meets Americans. Its third appearance was in Cranford in 2007, where Julia McKenzie wore the dress as Mrs. Forrester. 2008’s Little Dorrit was the last known sighting of this particular piece. Janine Duvitski wore it as Mrs. Meagles.
