About the Costume

This black gown has been worn in two versions of Titanic-based films. The costume made its first appearance on Marilu Henner as Molly Brown in the 1996 Titanic miniseries. The dress, in the collection at Angels Costumes, was rented again for use in James Cameron’s 1997 Titanic, where Tricia O’Neil wore it as a First Class passenger.

It is somewhat difficult to tell that these gowns are the same, especially since the second time it is seen, it is shown only briefly. However, close observation of the more minor details around the sleeves and bodice of the gown reveals they are the same.
