About the Costume

This delightful dress was used twice in the 1994 adaptation of Little Women. It is a great example of intentional reuse in order to show that the March sisters wear one another’s hand-me-downs. Trini Alvarado first wore it as the oldest sister, Meg. In the second half of the film, it appears on Samantha Mathis as the youngest sister, Amy.
