This pretty gown first appeared in the 1982 British television series The Barchester Chronicles, when Susan Hampshire wore it as La Signora Madeline Vesey Neroni. Initially, the dress seems to have had flowers sewn onto the front, but they were removed for the 2001 Victoria and Albert, where Victoria Hamilton wore it as Queen Victoria. In 2003 the television movie Hans Christian Andersen: My Life as a Fairy Tale used it on an uncredited extra.
