The 1960 Pathé short film Sewing Machines: Old and New documents the history of the sewing machine. In the film, several women appear in various period costumes. This uncredited actress wears a pink Victorian gown.

The dress went on to be used again in the television series Doctor Who in the 1967 episode The Evil of the Daleks, where Deborah Watling wore it as Victoria Waterfield. Some minor edits have been made, such as replacing the lace around the sleeves and removing the bows on the front of the bodice.
