This waistcoat was first seen on Corin Redgrave as Old Jolyon Forsyte in the 2002 remake of The Forsyte Saga. In 2005 it was worn by Simon Callow as Charles Dickens in the first season episode of (New) Doctor Who entitled The Unquiet Dead.
In 2020 the costume was seen a third time on Adam James as John Bellasis in Belgravia. The placement of the pattern on the fabric is a bit different than previous appearances, so either alterations were made for Belgravia or duplicates of the waistcoat exist. Nonetheless, it is clear they originated from the same source.
