This blue spencer has been used many times over the years. It most likely originated in the 1995 adaptation of Persuasion, where Amanda Root wore it as Anne Elliot. In 2003 it was recycled by an extra in Byron, and in 2007 it appeared in another adaptation of Persuasion, where Sally Hawkins wore it as Anne Elliot. In 2016 it was worn by an extra in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

The costume was used twice in 2018, both times on extras, first in Vanity Fair and then in Le retour du héros (Return of the Hero). Most recently, the piece was seen on Rose Williams as Charlotte Heywood in the 2019 Sanditon.
