About the Costume

This red spencer was first seen in the 2019 short film Mr. Malcolm’s List on Zara Martin. Because the production used recycled costumes almost exclusively, it is likely that this piece did not originate with Mr. Malcolm’s List. The costume was used again in 2022 by Crystal Clarke as Georgiana Lambe in the second season of Sanditon.

About the Costume

Have you seen this gown somewhere else? Do you need to be given credit for this sighting? Do you have corrections, additions or changes you would like to make?

Have you ever watched a film and noticed a character walk by in a gown that you just know you’ve seen before? Recycled Movie Costumes is dedicated to documenting the life of a costume through its various appearances on film and television.

  1. Another instance of Elizabeth Berrington in reused dress: Paisley pelisse on Freida Pinto in the short version of “Mr. Malcolm’s List” 2019 and on said Ms Berrington as Mrs. Griffiths in S01E04 of ‘Sanditon”, also 2019. The pelisse is surely originating from an older production. Princess Caraboo perhaps?

  2. I bet there’s an even earlier first instance of this one, it’s too nice to have started life as an extra’s costume and the rather heavy colours look quite 80s to my eye. Challenge on!
