About the Costume

This green gown has been seen many times over the years. It was first spotted in the 1996 Emma, where Gwyneth Paltrow wore it in the title role. It was later seen in the 2004 Regency House Party, where it was worn by Tanya Samuel. In 2007 it was seen on an extra in Persuasion, then again on an extra in the 2009 adaptation of Emma. In 2017 it was recycled for the film Mary Shelley, where Elle Fanning wore it as Mary Shelley. Finally, it was seen again in 2020, where it was worn by an extra in yet another adaptation of Emma.
