About the Costume

This beautiful, pink dress was seen twice in the 2009 production of Emma. It was seen as a prop in Harriet’s room, and on an extra at a ball. It appeared again in 2009, worn by another extra at a ball, in the movie Bright Star. Five years later, the dress made its last known appearance on screens when it was worn by yet another extra in the 2014 Austrian movie Amour Fou.

Costume Commentary

  1. Here it is again on an extra in “Amour fou” (2014), a film concerning Heinrich von Kleist’s looking for his last love that is now out at Cannes as “un certain regard”..

  2. The costume was actually used twice in Emma. Harriet was supposed to wear it for the Christmas evening party at the Westons, when she, unfortunatly, fell ill.
