About the Costume

This mustard yellow coat was first spotted on Carey Mulligan as Isabella Thorpe in the 2007 Northanger Abbey. Most costumes from that production were not original, and it is likely that this coat actually originates with an even earlier production. In 2013 the coat was worn by Eleanor Tomlinson as Georgiana Darcy in Death Comes to Pemberley, and in the 2019 it was recycled for the first season of Sanditon, where it was spotted on Crystal Clarke as Georgiana Lambe. Finally, the coat was seen in the 2022 Netflix adaptation of Persuasion, where it was worn by Mia McKenna-Bruce as Mary Musgrove.
