This oak-tree leaf patterned green waistcoat was first seen in ITV’s television miniseries Doctor Thorne on an extra, however it is likely that this piece does not originate from this production.

The wasitcoat went on to be used in 2018 in Le retour du héros (Return of the Hero), where it was worn by Jean Dujardin as Capitaine Charles-Grégoire Neuville.

In 2022 it was spotted in The Confessions of Frannie Langton, where Steven Mackintosh wore it as John Langton.

  1. Look at that. Had this in my screengrab folder since 2020 – must have found the fabric eye catching – and have no idea what I’ve taken it from. Some TV docu-drama on some musical genius? Oh dear. PS: Thanks image search… it’s Anselm Bresgott as young Louis van Beethoven in that 2020 TV movie of the same name.

  2. Ohhh. Looks like this great print (or is it a weave as I initially thought? Going by the better quality image w/ Jean Dujardin, I’d say print.) is out there in several colours. A post about examples in pink on blue from Austeland/Mr. Malcolm’s list is already queued .
