About the Costume

The piece is an interesting color, appearing gray, with just a subtle hint of green. It was possibly created by Sam Perry in the first episode of the first season of Sanditon, where it made its debut on Lily Sacofsky as Clara Brereton, though could just as easily have originated with an earlier production.

The piece was worn again in the 2022 film Mr. Malcolm’s List where it was worn by an extra.

It will return to the screen in 2025 in PBS Masterpiece’s new series titled Miss Austen on Liv Hill as Young Mary.

This gown will almost certainly continue to be used again, so keep your eyes peeled!
