About the Costume

This charming polka dotted gown was designed for the 1995 adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, where it was worn by Susannah Harker as Jane Bennet. The 1996 ITV Emma then reused the dress for the part of Jane Fairfax, played by Olivia Williams. It was another eight years before the dress was seen again, this time in the 2004 reality television series Regency House Party, where it was worn by Tanya Samuel as herself. The outfit was used one further time, appearing in the 2007 adaptation of Persuasion on the actress Rosamund Stephen as Henrietta Musgrove.
