One more cap
it looks like this spencer will be reused in “death comes to pemberley” though i cannot yet make out the actress (between anna maxwell martin upfront and nicola burley at the end of the line) and her part.
EDIT- PS: sorry, for the double. the newest post from shrewesbury lasses wasn’t visible on my first page before i’d send my posting.
PPS: could anna maxwell martin be wearing anne hathaways jane austen bonnet(http://www.fanpix.net/0635120/012020714/becoming-jane-2007-large-picture.html)?
The bonnet really is a reused one that Anne Hathaway had worn before playing the famous sister to Anna Maxwell Martin’s character in “Becoming Jane”.
It’s also going to be seen in Death Comes to Pemberley. (No idea who is wearing it in this image.)
worn as well by vicky krieps as johanna gauss in “die vermessung der welt”/”the measuring of the world” (2012)
I’ve found a better image of the Spencer.
Thank you!
I’ve not heard of this – I will have to check it out! Did you enjoy it?
I enjoyed it quite a bit, even though I’ve had considerably more fun with the book. It was quite a well advertised feature film here in Germany but it must have fallen short of expectations, including, of course, financial ones, as there is no trace of an english language release that was heralded at the start.
But as it is more or less an adventure movie about boys such as Alexander von Humboldt and Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss conquering the world on foot and by mind, there aren’t many lavish costumes. Though there are court scenes (representing a small German duchy, mind you), they are mostly costumed for cartoonish exaggeration.
Some of the costumes from Persuasion 2007 are being auctioned starting yesterday. You can read about it on the website for The Jane Austen Centre in Bath
