About the Costume

This costume was likely created by Rosalind Ebbutt for the 1996 television movie version of Poldark, where it made its debut on Amanda Ryan as Cuby Trevanion.

In 1998 it was spotted in Vanity Fair.

Rosalind Ebbutt reused her own design in the 2009 BBC adaptation of Emma, where it was worn by Christina Cole as Mrs. Elton.

It went on to be reused in 2018 in the television mini series Les Misérables on Charlotte Dylan Blake as Favorite.

Then it was worn by Kate Ashfield for her portrayal of Mary Parker in 2019 in the first season of Sanditon.

Most recently it was seen on an extra in the second episode of the newest season of Bridgerton.
