This red coat with gold details was first spotted on an extra in BBC’s Vanity Fair adaptation in 1987.

After 30 years it returned to the screen in ITV’s 2018 adaptation of Vanity Fair.

It was seen a year later in the third season of Sanditon, where Alice Orr-Ewing wore it as Lady Lydia Montrose.

It appeared twice in 2026 – first in Seeking Persephone on Charlotte Hemmings as the Dowager, and then on Indira Varma as Mrs.Gardiner in the BBC’s The Other Bennet Sister.
