About the Costume

This bright pink coat with large collar was worn by Naomi Watts as Alice Fairfield in The Wyvern Mystery. As it was a rather obscure TV adaptation from 2000, it is possible this piece originates from an even earlier production.

The costume was used multiple times for Rose Williams’ Charlotte Heywood in the first season of Sanditon in 2019 – possibly after a dye job that intensified the pink; though that impression could be a trick of the light or the difference between the low definition of late 90s, early 2000s television, and the HD quality of Sanditon. 

It turns up again – rather briefly – on Maddie Close as Jane Bennet in The other Bennet Sister in 2026.
